If you don’t renounce white, but you want it to have a special touch … If you love island kitchens … If you want your office to be warmer … Take a look at this project, it’s a master lesson.
That the owners were very clear that they wanted a white kitchen was a great luck because, although we see these large windows, their orientation prevents us from enjoying direct sunlight. With this starting point, Chone de la Sotilla and Berta Olivella de Deulonder were able to begin this lesson on how to style a white and neutral space.
Yes, everything has an American flair. A large island and a large bell help to create it. “We have a large family that uses the kitchen a lot and that needs everything to be very practical, that’s why we chose this porcelain floor that imitates the hydraulic one: it gives a lot of character, defines the kitchen and contrasts with the oak parquet”.
The touches of black that the floor announces also highlight that very special and unique design that they have made on the hood.
On the other side of a passing area we find the office. “It works as a dining room almost always, so we try to pack it as much as possible,” says Chone.
WHITE, BLACK AND WOOD!
Although the walls and the storage furniture are still white, when we leave the strictly cooking area, the floor warns us of the change. And wood also appears on the table and chairs to give warmth to this office area. They also add heat, an unusual abuse in upholstery kitchens: on the chairs, the bench, the cushions …
The fabrics were at the whim of the owners who wanted stripes that follow this two-color game of the whole kitchen in the bank.
The lamps on the island and the office also want to remind us of this American dream come true.
