UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT DEPT

Interesting how it always starts the same way. First it’s the immigrants
whose rights are suspended. Then it’s the citizens. First because of
actions and then for beliefs. Presumption of innocence surrenders to assumption
of guilt. Jury trials, though not eliminated, are a unnecessary because
people are detained for long periods without any judicial proceedings. All
these signs are present today. Somewhere in another time and place
people will look at this period and wonder how this was allowed to happen.

“Since 11 September last year, up to 2,000 people in the United States
have been detained without trial, or charge, or even legal rights. The
fate of most is unknown.”
